Tarmac ribbons criss-crossing the landscape, dusty back roads twisting between the cool shadows of ancient pines, and less traveled pathways connecting present to past, all I wander, seeking, seeing, with my keyboard and camera capturing scenes and stories to share with you.

Now in its seventh year, this venue has become an important part of my life, a place where I can express my thoughts and feelings about the things I see and do, hoping the process brings me a bit closer to friends and family who enjoy sharing my sometimes chaotic and often nonlinear observations and ideas. A journal, I suppose, but one with which I find pleasure in thinking others are alongside me on my journey.

... i went over roger's yesterday afternoon and prepped my motorcycle for today's first ride of the season ... after a stop to get it inspected, i drove down to mt. vernon, then wandered the maze of roads surrounding great pond until i ended up in augusta ... shaking off some kind of a cold, and, perhaps, still a bit tired from the wonderful wanderabout adrien and i just completed, i then headed home along the west river road, one of my favorite routes ... along the way i snapped a shot of my trusty bmw f650 cs, all cleaned up and purring like a—well, purring like a bmw ...

On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again

... with the time between packing up after the planetarium shows at the school and the arrival of the afternoon ferry to the mainland, john and i took a little wanderabout in the fog along the island's extremely pot-holed and frost-heaved roads ... we never did find the lighthouse, deciding it was located somewhere down one of the unplowed lanes we thought unwise to explore ... just before we parked to await the boat i managed to snap a picture i liked ...

"Only the guy who isn't rowing has time to rock the boat."
