WANDERABOUTING

... i took the boys to the maine state museum ... walker was fascinated ...

... while danny and tom, it seems, were mystified ...

... they never seem to stop enjoying their view of the parking lot ...

... later this month is to be some sort of a "super moon"—i was happy i noticed it now ...

... in elmer's barn i stopped to note hub and spokes ...

... there're times a color is perfect ...

... a mother had brought her kids to the park down by the river so they could feed the sea gulls ... i was pleased to be reminded there are still many who know good parenting ...

I am haunted by numberless islands, and many a Danaan shore,
Where Time would surely forget us, and Sorrow come near us no more;
Soon far from the rose and the lily, and fret of the flames would we be,
Were we only white birds, my beloved, buoyed out on the foam of the sea!

... in these times to cross the 2¢ bridge is free ... that's nice, but, were it the case, i'd gladly pay the fee ...

... for a brief moment the kennebec's cool waters hold to the last of autumn ...

... my eye was caught by yellow splashing from the roadbed's ballast ...

... every season there's always one that calls to me ...

... while his friends fished he started a small campfire ... a long, long time ago, i was one of these boys ... in september of 1775, after leaving fort halifax, benedict arnold's men had to portage their bateaux (small river craft) around these falls ... although difficult to believe if you didn't actually witness it, during the great flood of 1987 the kennebec's violent flow came to within a few feet of the bottom of the trestle at the left of the picture ...

... sunset ...

... i so enjoy wanderabouting ...
