... john rang me up asking if i'd like to keep him company while he cleared the camp roof ... anticipating being once again snowed in tomorrow, i thought it was a grand idea ... when we got to the pond he decided that if we did manage to get the van down the hill there was no way we'd be driving it back up, so we hiked down to the camp ...
... as a faithful sidekick, i decided that my job should be to stay up by the road and keep an eye out for wolves or zombies ... i mean, we all know that "friendship" means covering the other guy's back, right ... a few steps after this the snow was up to his coat ...
... the good news is that before they fixed his shoulder he would've been unable to do this ... watching him work i've a feeling he was beginning to think that the surgery had its down side ...
... the pond side of the roof only had about a foot or so, but this side, sheltered from the wind and in the lee of the trees, was almost three-feet deep in snow ... the exterior walls do a better job of carrying the load, so getting the middle of the building clear was most important ...
... i did the math, at this point he had moved approximately 4-5 tons of snow ...

... in ten days i'm going to nicaragua with "habitat for humanity" ... the plan is that we take a week to build a house , but i'm thinking it might really be helpful to the people if i stayed an extra month or so ... you know, maybe paint it up real fancy or something like that ... ??? ...
