HOUSESITTING IN FREEDOM - LAST DAY

... this afternoon jon and i drove up to conway ... we visited whitehouse motorcycle supply, where he got a nice set of gloves ... anticipating riding when it gets a bit cooler out, i managed to find a snuggly warm pair of knee length socks ... i also replaced my faceplate, seeing as my rather shoddy "helmet discipline" had left it pitted and scratched to the point of being distracting ... after a nice lunch a "the flatbread company" we motored up route 16 to check out the local weather at the mount washington auto road ...

... we decided to pass it by ... drive up the first couple of thousand feet would've been a pleasant drive in the forest, but the next four thousand feet looked to be an experience pretty much like driving inside a very wet and windy ping-pong ball ... instead of mount washington, we drove over to evan's notch, then, as a little "surprise," i turned onto the "hurricane mountain road" ... "warning: 15% grade" ...
warning: not suitable for large vehicles, trucks, or rv's" ... "warning: shoulder drops off suddenly" ... "warning: road isn't really big enough for two cars to pass" ... "warning: vehicles may bottom out" ... "warning: watch for moose and hikers" ... "warning: forget the moose and hikers, it's the crazies on their crotch-rocket motorcycles you've got to worry about" ...

... oh, what great fun ...
