... taking a break from housesitting, last friday i rode back to maine so that i could photograph the wedding of joanna lovely and dan welch ...
... their vows made my "all-time top ten" list ...
... there was clearly a great sense of sartorial humor present ...
... part of a well-planned wedding, joanne and dan had made sure that a little alcove in the woods had been bushwhacked clear for photography ...
... and all over the big field they'd set up games for everyone to play ...
... the d.j. was quite good, and once the dancing had begun it didn't stop until the reception was over ...
... the bouquet toss was an olympic performance ...
... as i said, the dancing went on and on ...
... and on ...
... if there'd been a rug mom and dad would've sliced it to bits ...
... eighty years old, gram said, "if i was thirty years younger i'd hit on you" ... i responded, well, seeing as i'm almost sixty-three, that would mean i'd be robbing the cradle" ... she smiled, wonderfully, "hmmmmm, maybe i'll have to rethink it then" ... her boyfriend laughed ... what a great couple ...
... yes, another great couple ...
... i always say, "there are some weddings i enjoy photographing so much that i can't believe i'm being paid" ... this was one of them ... and, no, i didn't hand back the money ...
