HOUSESITTING IN NH - DAY 6

... my motorcycle and i shared a little wanderabout of the new hampshire/maine border ... along route 153 near province lake the edge of the tarmac marked the actual boundary line ...
... some small weathered signs pointed the way to the "green mountain fire tower" ... the road finally dead-ended at the "lake view neurorehabilitation center," and i never did find the trail to the tower, but i did find a wonderful view of the ossippee lakes region ... sarah and gordy's house is on the other side of the ridge in the right side of the picture ... you can see mount washington on the horizon in the center of the photograph ...

... in effingham i stopped to admire the old masonic hall ...

... i found this pine cone in the cemetery adjacent to a 150+ year-old church ...

...  arrangements of colorful silk flowers decorated many of the old headstones ...

... these three tombstones reminded me of the backs of classically styled dining room chairs ... i wondered if the individuals resting beneath the stones ever sat side-by-side and shared an evening meal ...

... that the word "died" was engraved in such a fancy script, how interesting ...

... i wandered quite a ways down the border until a east-west road brought me back to route 16 ... when i stopped for gas i met a man driving a fifty-year old harley-davidson ... it turned out his own afternoon wanderabout coincided with mine, so we shared the back road up to route 25, where he headed west and i turned back towards freedom ...

... what a beautiful day ...
