WANDERING BIDDEFORD POOL

... jon called, "i'm doing a show in biddeford, if you're up to it after all your travels would you like to go down early to explore biddeford pool" ... looking at the second room i'm supposed to be painting this week, i'll bet you can guess my response ...

... time suspended, a tiny vessel under sail fought its way along the dangerous shoals ...

... a nanny, i think, from her body language ... i appreciated her courage as she took her charges to the very edge so they could enjoy the cool spray of the waves crashing against the rocks ...

... red berries ... i don't know what they are, but i'm quite aware they're not edible ... too bad, they look really yummy ...

... on a warm summer day, a reminder ...

One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh:
but the earth abideth for ever.
ECCLESIASTES 1:4

... wood island light, with old orchard beach in the background ...

... thousands, perhaps millions, of years of ocean bottom sedimentary layers, compressed and folded, finally by tectonic forces thrust deep within the earth's mantle to be cooked into hard metamorphic rocks ...

... then, as if, indeed, a mischievous g*d thought it great fun to test our comprehension, this process was repeated over and over again ... once theory, now indisputable fact, these rocks once touched against their like in europe ... here, not in some human made cathedral, brushing my hands against the eons frozen, is where i feel reverence ...

... john loaned me his "classic" (translated: ancient) vivitar 50mm macro lens ... i've owned lenses labeled such, but this is the first time i've ever used in the field glass that allows 1:1 reproduction (i.e., you can fill the frame with a penny) ... delicate, whatever their name ...

... mystery ...

If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course,
on where you stop your story.
ORSON WELLS

... i think if it were possible i would be this color ...

... while unloading john's equipment i asked him if he could figure this out ... both of us were stymied ... perhaps you can help ... ??? ...

... i saw that there's a empty house lot for sale in biddeford pool ... $2,200,000 ...

... had i the cash and i purchased it, still, i don't think, i would not more enjoy biddeford pool ...
